The Besrour Centre is pleased to release Report 2020.
Discover the Besrour Centre’s major accomplishments and activities that have demonstrated commitment to fostering family medicine globally. Through involvement with the COVID-19 Pandemic Response and Impact Grant (Co-RIG) Program, support of mutual learning and knowledge exchange with the Besrour Global Café initiative, and the Family Medicine (FM) Pivot educational project, the Besrour Centre actively leads international partnerships and innovation within the global family medicine arena. Read Report 2020 here.
We are also excited to provide a look ahead. The Besrour Centre continues to build on its strengths of uniting global partners and harnessing opportunities to strengthen family medicine and primary care around the world. Some key initiatives include collaborating with partners from the George Institute for Global Health and the Primary Health Care Research Consortium, for strengthening COVID-19 vaccination programs internationally; growing a repository of FM Pivot modules and offerings with new webinars, discussions, and knowledge exchange for global primary care providers responding to the current pandemic crisis; and building partnerships with new contexts such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to strengthen standards for family medicine residency and accreditation programs. We look forward to keeping you updated with news about our work throughout the year.
Family medicine plays a pivotal role in the health of our global population and we are proud to be delivering on our vision of collaboration, education, and research.
Besrour Fellowship 2020
The Besrour Centre for Global Family Medicine, through the generosity of Scotiabank and MD Financial, is offering a learning opportunity to its global network in the form of a fellowship program. These funds—which are part of a five-year partnership between the College of Family Physicians of Canada, Scotiabank, and MD Financial and in collaboration with the Canadian Medical Association—are helping advance primary care around the world.
The first Fellowship in Medical Education Research in 2020 was awarded to Dr. Trinidad Rodriguez, a family physician from Santiago, Chile, who works in the Department of Family Medicine at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile.
Congratulations Dr. Rodriguez, we look forward to learning of your project at the Besrour/FMF 2021.
