Healthcare providers around the world are seeking to manage the rising burden of chronic conditions against a backdrop of both growing and ageing populations as well as greater expectations of health services. This paper describes the development of an integrated primary care model ‘the family medicine model (FMM)’ to deliver primary healthcare in Qatar to better address some of the healthcare challenges faced. Assessment of the public-private-partnerships model of a national health insurance scheme in India

A single hospital admission can deplete household resources so considerably as to induce impoverishment, especially in the Indian context of low government healthcare expenditure. Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) was a national health insurance scheme for below-poverty-line Indian families, to provide improved access to hospitalization and greater financial protection via a public-private-partnership employing private sector implementation capacity. Study objectives were to understand governance (including regulatory) environment and contract arrangements; evaluate expansion of services to beneficiaries; and assess compliance of providers and user satisfaction.

Analyze and improve the patient flow in hospital environments, with improved layout different sectors: A case study of Shahid Beheshti hospital, Iran

Hospital officials are looking to reduce traffic on the hospital wards. The less congestion on the ward, cause that the staff work by more quality and freely also patients are waiting less. As a result it is easier to treat the patients. One of the most effective ways to reduce the patient traffic is changing the layout of the hospital. In this study, changing the layout of the hospital was explore by a case study in Shahid Behesthti Hospital. This research aims to optimize a hospital patient flow by using computerized relationship layout planning.
