After the Global Conference on Primary Health Care and the Declaration of Astana, there is renewed global commitment towards primary health care, including recognition of its fundamental role in achieving Universal Health Coverage and health-related SDGs.
As part of the implementation phase, WHO has selected 21 PHC Young Leaders, for whom the SDG era will form an integral part of their professional lives. This network will serve to empower young doctors, nurses, midwives, advocates, public health professionals, researchers, and other health professionals from across the world to inspire and advocate for the value of primary health care both in a national and global context. This community of practice offers a platform for ongoing interaction, discussion, and collaboration on technical products.
